Coach Yates Hoopsfest
Thank you to District 211, Fremd Athletic Department, Fremd Teachers, the group of former players that laced up one more time, and the over 120 Volunteers
that made the day what it was intended to be.

What WAS Hoopsfest?
Coach Yates Hoopsfest was a gathering of people that have been postively impacted by Dave and the Yates family.

Whether you know him as Coach Yates, Mr. Yates, Dave or some other nickname the rest of us do not know, this event was a great tribute to Dave.
​
We had an all day 2 ball tournament in the main gym, while a group of talanted members of the basketball community hosted high level clinics in the South Gym for the future stars of High School Basketball. Because this was also a fund raiser to help with the burden associated with a fight of this magnitude, there was a raffle and silent auction that contained some amazing prizes donated by indiviuduals and businesses in this amazing community.

The night culminated with an Alumni Game filled with graduates of Coach Yates program that put on a show and displayed the talant that has been a part of this program since Dave has been the coach.
​
While the fight is far from over, and the need for Prayers, words of encouragement, and even financial support remain, this day will go down as win for the Fremd community, Palatine and the surrounding areas, and most of all for the Yates Family.

If you are on this site, then you are here for the same reason all of us are. We want to find ways to help the Yates in this difficult time. The Hoopsfest event was a way to surround the Yates with love and support while we honor Dave and his love for basketball. 100% of all proceeds will be given directly to the Yates, and through the generosity of Fremd High School and many volunteers, we were able to put on an amazing event in a short time frame.
